My favorite neighbor
Miss Sheryl Cook
is completely responsible for my
12 hour night shifts, screaming moms,
my baby bundling skills, And the
pure joy that comes with each
loving parent meeting
there much anticipated babe.
My favorite Sunday activity as a 14 year old
jr. high student was going with Sheryl to
her night shifts on L&D. I played a nursing student
finishing up her clinicals...We ran into only a few
problems when I was put on the spot by a
few laboring patients asking where I went to school,
and how I looked awfully familiar to them..
Sheryl was always quick to step in:)
I started working low in the totem poll in
Environmental Services, that's at least what
I always told people when I was asked
what I did for work, it just sounded better okay:)...
But I was a housekeeper, I learned that when a
housekeeper gets a call for a code that's
never good (ohh and the stories I could tell!!),
how to make a killer bed with hospital
corners, and that Labor and Delivery
is defiantly my home!!!
I have worked at several different
Hospitals, with quite a variety
of nurses and docs...But after several moves,
a couple new cars due to the commute
and driving conditions (not new boyfriends
as much as my fam fights me on that one)
I have found my resting place (for awhile
atleast) at Park City Medical Center
working as a Scrub Tech in Womens & Newborns...
Its the best of both worlds, Laboring moms,
scrubbing c-sections and playing with
the babies after... I just love it
Watch this video that Extra did on
Park City Medical Center
Well Sheryl put me on quite the
journey so far, can't wait
to see where it takes me...
3 Major things I have learned from working in L&D
I like going to work
It's very good birth control
and I'm planning on adopting;)
(joking mom)
